What is XA?
Chi Alpha Christian Fellowship at Fairmont State University is a body of college students earnestly following Jesus, who come together to worship our amazing God, to learn His Word and be discipled, to encourage one another and pray, and to have fun making friendships that will last a lifetime!
Even though we have a Greek name, we are not a fraternity or sorority.  However, if you are looking for brothers or sisters you’ve come to the right place.  Our letters represent who we are are. Chi (X) and Alpha (A) are the first letters of a phrase, written by the Apostle Paul, that when translated means “Christ sent ones.”  This emphasizes our mission to reconcile students to Christ, equipping them through spirit-filled communities of prayer, worship, fellowship discipleship, and mission to transform the university, the marketplace and the world.
What is Important to XA?
In Chi Alpha, all we do are guided by three principles: real devotional lifereal community, and real responsibility.

real devotional life: Our desire is that every student would have a vibrant, personal relationship with God. We believe that a real devotional life is necessary to maintain a solid relationship with God. Through spending time in the Word, and communicating with God frequently, fervently, and with great faith, we can experience God and live the life we are called to live.

real community: We are made for community! We believe that the greatest transformation occurs when we are developing deep friendships with our fellow brothers and sisters in Christ. That is why we consider the most important part of Chi Alpha to be our Life Groups

.real responsibility: We believe that every Christian has an outward responsibility and should play a role in global missions, relational evangelism, and justice. In Chi Alpha, we provide students with opportunities to serve on all levels.
